| Pallas leads going into finals
Mark Pallas' inexperience in certain areas might be helping him. The micro sprint car driver from Salem leads the points standings in the sportsman class heading into this weekend's final races of the season at the Salem Indoor. But he doesn't feel the pressure of leading the points chase. "Not really," said Pallas, 52. "I think maybe because it's my rookie season. It just didn't seem to pressure me when I won the points championship at Lebanon." Pallas won the micro sprint 600 championship at Lebanon's Willamette Speedway's kart track last summer. Heading into Saturday's Earl Veeder Memorial, Pallas leads the Salem Indoor points chase with 431, seven points ahead of Owen Olinger. Pallas grew up around racing, but never got into driving because of money.

West Virginia Radio Station Offers Free Valentine's Day Divorce for ...
CHARLESTON, W.Va. A Charleston radio station is observing Valentine's Day with a reminder that Cupid sometimes misses his mark. WKLC-FM, better known as Rock 105, is giving away a free divorce. Valentine's Day isn't all hearts and flowers, says WKLC Program Director Jay Nunley. There is a darker side, he said, "where maybe you despise your spouse and resent the entire day." Through 4 p.m. on Thursday, Valentine's Day, applications for the free divorce will be accepted on the classic rock station's Web site, www.wklc.com. The winning name will be drawn at 5 p.m. Nunley cautions that this is a real divorce and people shouldn't enter if they aren't serious. Also, people expecting a long, drawn-out legal battle should hire a lawyer because the Rock 105 contest is for a relatively uncomplicated divorce.
'American Idol' Recap: Atlanta Auditions Draw Beauty Queen, Homeless ...
On Tuesday night's 900th seventh "American Idol" audition episode of the season, Ryan Seacrest brought the gang back to his hometown, Atlanta. There was talent, there were tears, there were Ryan's parents. (If Dennis Kucinich became a televangelist, he'd look exactly like Papa Seacrest.) And of course, there were awards to be given. Giddy-up... The Scooter Girl Prize for Proof That We Shouldn't See More "Good" Singers in These Audition Episodes: Joshua Jones For a couple of seasons, die-hard "Idol" fans (myself included) have been begging for less William Hung and more Paris Bennett in the audition episodes. But after seeing glass worker Josh Jones score a golden ticket, I think I speak for many when I say, "We were wrong." Aside from the fact that the dude had to sing with his back to the judges so as not to distract them with his crazy "demonic" eyes, his Queen audition sounded a tiny bit too Tiny Tim for my taste.
Hutton set for summer move to Spurs
SPURS were today refusing to give up on their bid to sign Alan Hutton before the transfer window slams shut a week tonight. But it now appears the 22-year-old Rangers star's £10m mega-move to London will go through in the summer. Hutton played and scored in Gers' 6-0 Scottish Cup rout of East Stirling last night at Ibrox and is still believed to be dead against leaving Scotland right now. .
